Reflexology
Review on Facebook: "I've had a number of sessions with Dawn and can highly recommend her services. Her treatment room is very well set up, providing the perfect relaxing environment. The treatment itself is so relaxing and I come away feeling at one with myself!" Fleur
Foot Reflexology is a natural holistic therapy whereby reflexes on the feet, hands or face, believed to correspond to all organs, nerves, glands and parts of the body, are stimulated to induce the body’s own healing mechanisms to restore natural equilibrium. Pressure and movement techniques are used to increase energy flow in order to balance the body system, on a physical, mental and emotional level. Reflexology relaxes the body, relieving stress and tension; improves circulation of blood and lymphatic fluids, helping the body’s processes to function more efficiently; helps unblock nerve impulses, facilitating natural healing processes and enhances general health.
Reflexologists work holistically with their clients and aim to work alongside allopathic healthcare to promote better health. Doctors agree that over 75% of our health problems can be linked to nervous stress and tension. Reflexology is fantastic for reducing the effects of these stresses by relaxing and clearing blockages or congestion. Widely accepted in the UK, Reflexology is recognised by the NHS, many GP’s, cancer support centres and hospices.
Stress in the workplace is generally accepted as a big problem in the UK, with huge production, financial, physical and psychological costs to employers and employees. Studies have shown (in Denmark) that regular on-site Reflexology in varied workforces have: reduced absenteeism, fewer sick days and reduced pain. They also saw: increased wellbeing and motivation, increased satisfaction with the workplace, increased feelings of support and increased loyalty. If you are an employee and think Reflexology would be a good idea at your workplace, please do let your employer know that I can offer a service. If you are an employer, please do contact me for further information.
Reflexology is suitable for all ages including children and more mature people. Whilst reflexology does not claim to cure, diagnose or prescribe, it can be extremely beneficial in coping with symptoms surrounding many conditions or disorders.
